Daily Crew Management Officer & Crew Rosterer

Reporting to: Operations Control Centre (OCC) Manager

Description:
With its continually changing network and expanding number of flights, VLM Airlines is recruiting a Daily Crew Management Officer & Crew Rosterer. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day follow up of the crew rosters and will deal with the rostering of ± 50 Crew Members. He/She is assigned the responsibility of handling all crew problems on a daily basis.

Location: Antwerp Airport

The tasks include but are not limited to:

Daily Crew Management tasks (50%):

  • Work closely together with and liaise with our Operations Control Center to ensure punctual execution of the daily flight schedule.
  • Providing replacement of crew members who report ill.
  • Check on a continuous basis the consistency of the crew rosters (taking into account rest times and weekly rest) and provide sufficient numbers of standby and available crews.
  • Follow up of crew duty and rest times with corrective actions to be taken when necessary.
  • Follow up of the rostered standby and available crews in the rostered period to ensure that the right number is planned within the rostered period.
  • Providing crews for last minute (charter) flights.
  • Follow up of hotel bookings, airline tickets and ground transportation for crews who have received roster changes.
  • A strict follow up of all the changes in the operational integrated system BlueOne to keep the system fully updated.
  • Single and first point of contact for crew for the day to day operations during office hours in respect of roster / weekly rest / holiday issues. You analyze the questions and solve them if possible, if not you revert tot the responsible manager.
  • Check the monthly crew allowances and make sure that all claimed expenses by crew are correct.

Crew Rosterer (50%):

  • To evaluate the number of Crews (FTE levels) required to operate the given flight programme;
  • To coordinate with the OCC Officers, Cabin Crew Department & Training Department in order to complete all required training in the most efficient way;
  • To produce punctually monthly Crew rosters;
  • To manage the daily crewing operation whenever needed;
  • To participate in the further development of the crew rostering IT system BlueOne;
  • To produce reports related to crew rostering;
  • To perform administrative tasks related to crew rostering and crew training.

Profile:
We are looking for a person who has a sharp analytical mind, able to work and cope with high stress
environments, fluent in Dutch and English, who is familiar to work with people planning and scheduling systems and who will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with our crews.
Experience as a former or current Crew member, as a surface or maritime transport rosterer/planner, or experience in creating rosters (IT supported) for other large employee groups working in complex shift patterns will also be regarded favourably.

  • Languages required: Dutch with a very good knowledge of English and French. Other languages are considered an advantage.

  • Must be able to reach ANR airport within 60 minutes.

  • Possession of right to live and work in the EU.

  • Possession of passport allowing unrestricted travel within Europe.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience holding a cabin crew attestation EASA compliant.

  • Holder of a valid EASA-approved Cabin Crew Attestation and EASA medical license.

  • Minimum 6 months experience as an active Cabin Crew Member.

Successful applicants will be invited for a conversion course of approx. 2 weeks in our Headquarters in Antwerp. This includes ground school training and familiarization flights. A training contract will be provided. Applicants will then be required to meet high standards throughout their respective training programmes and must pass a range of subjects to ensure they receive their Wings. Following successful completion of training, candidates will then receive a 6 month contract.
